The Australian Society for Operations Research (ASOR) was established on the 1st of January 1972. Today, the society has more than 400 members nationwide and is expanding. ASOR is associated with the International Federation of Operational Research Society (IFORS). The society runs an annual conference. 2016 will witness the 24th edition of ASOR conference in Canberra.
A Chapter of ASOR, ASOR-ACT is currently expanding and renewing its vision. The theme for ASOR-ACT is "Analytics in Action: From Data and Opinions to Decisions, Evidences and Wisdom" or DO2DEW. The vision of ASOR-ACT is to be the umbrella that units all ASOR professionals and academics in the area of Evidence-based Decision Making and Evidence-based Policy.
